May 31 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm PDT

The Architectural Foundation of Santa Barbara and the AIA of Santa Barbara are pleased to announce the return of Kids Draw Architecture, a day of community and creativity for kids of all ages to draw a local historical building. This year, the outdoor sketch session will be held at the Old Mission Santa Barbara on Sunday, May, 19th from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

The sketch session is free and drawing materials are provided. Local architects and artists will be on hand to offer guidance.

For those unable to attend on May 19th, we will also be accepting mailed in 8.5 x 11 black and white pencil drawings of the Old Mission Santa Barbara through Friday, May 31st, 2024. Please see our website for required entry form and below for the mailing address.

Kids Draw Architecture is a program developed by the Architectural Foundation of Santa Barbara with support from the AIA Santa Barbara to enrich our community awareness of the built environment by encouraging children to sketch our architectural landmarks. Selected drawings will be featured on the 2025 KDA calendar and on exhibition at the Architectural Foundation Gallery at the end of the year.

The Architectural Foundation of Santa Barbara and AIA Santa Barbara are located in the historic Acheson House at the corner of Garden and East Victoria Streets in Santa Barbara. You can visit the Architectural Foundation Gallery on Saturdays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. or by appointment during the week.
