Rep. Carbajal Surveys Santa Barbara Dredging Operations Receiving $3 Million from 2024 Funding Deal
The mistake was made many years ago and yes, we're still paying for it, but there's little alternative. And of course the costs have been analyzed and bids are treated according to the law.
Rep. Carbajal Surveys Santa Barbara Dredging Operations Receiving $3 Million from 2024 Funding Deal
Your lies were thoroughly debunked the last time this came up a few weeks ago, and yet here you are again repeating them. Carbajal rightly claims credit for procuring federal funding for this and other undertakings here on the Central Coast.
Op-Ed: Open Letter to the Santa Barbara City Council to Save the Hangars
SB has a great SBA history movie to show at the hangars. Found it just now seeking more about Lindbergh's visits to our area. Just started watching, and already so many fascinating stories & photos! Great low altitude aerial the Lougheeds (aka Lockheed Corp.) took of the Flying A, showing the building I first knew as The Green Dragon. Here's the movie link: https://youtu.be/0IZ27WZsAQA

Yes! Runway outline's still clearly visible from the air too. So much SB area aviation & aerospace history could be collected at the old hangars for display!

There were two airports in Carpinteria. The old hangers are still at one of them.

Tom, thanks for ensuring everyone knows $0 for the City.

Who's in favor of free educational programs in science, tech, and history plus more public support for and participation in activities at what many pilots believe is the best U.S. airport (possibly the world, since the U.S. is world leader)? But I'm getting enthusiastic again. ;)
Rep. Carbajal Surveys Santa Barbara Dredging Operations Receiving $3 Million from 2024 Funding Deal
It’s kind of funny, that in the early 1920’s, the S.B.Yacht Club conducted a test to see what the most viable harbor option was, and what was chosen; our current harbor, was NOT selected because of the need of frequent dredging! Oh well, HOWEVER…. $3 million a year. Roughly $1.5 MM each time. Has anybody analyzed the COST of this operation? Last time it was bid out? What are the approximate man-hours to provide the service? Let’s say it’s 4 workers, working 2 weeks at 40 hours per week. That’s 320 man hours. Each worker would be earning $2300 AN HOUR!!! Yes, the dredger itself has a cost, and the electricity to run it has a cost, however I’m pretty sure, it’s not a new dredger each and every time they use it! I would imagine this dredger has been paid for long ago! SOMEBODY needs to do some cost analysis/competitive bidding and save us taxpayers a few bucks!

ANON - Yeah, unless you're just messing with BASIC and saying "breading" is actually how you spell "breeding" as a riff on how obstinate that guy can be when he's called out on easily verifiable false statements LOL ..... hence the winky face ---> ;)
Rep. Carbajal Surveys Santa Barbara Dredging Operations Receiving $3 Million from 2024 Funding Deal
Like most politicians, Carbajal likes to claim credit for routine federal expenditures. As stated in the article, "Santa Barbara Harbor undergoes two dredging cycles every year..." Every year, no matter who is in Congress, it is done. That's politics for you...
Champions Crowned in SBCEO’s 2024 Battle of the Books!
What a great event for the kids! Well done!

I guess I didn't make it clear enough in my letter that the idea is for the city to NOT spend any money on this. Let a qualified non profit raise the funds.

Breading is what you put on the trout to cook and eat it. Breeding is when the fish reproduce.
