Spread the pain. If a 10% reduction is needed a minimum of 10% should come out of administration. The right thing for superintendent to do is take the biggest hit in her area,
A Three-Course Meal at Rosewood Miramar Beach’s Restaurant Caruso’s
We went to the Sunday Brunch a few years ago and found both food and service mediocre. The setting is nice, and going through all the security hoops was interesting but weird. Couldn't help but hear the train blasting through the ambiance.
Striping Improvements in Old Town Starting Soon
The phrase "Striping Improvements" does not seem appropriate for this project. In addition the photo shows a a nice un-congested view of the old town section of Hollister Avenue which is not typical. With the elimination of half of the street lanes and some of the existing parking, I don't see how this plan will be anything close to an improvement for any category of user.

And had those actions which would now be classified as war crimes not been taken because of the civilian suffering would the Allies have won the war? Would they have won it in the time frame they did? Would they have won it eventually at the cost of tens or hundreds of thousands of their own soldiers? Because I'm pretty sure that, had the international agreements on war crimes been in place prior to WW2 Hitler would not have restrained his efforts even if the US did. I like the idea that humanity evolves towards a moral construct that would minimize innocent civilian suffering and death due to war and armed conflict. Unfortunately, I don't see national leaders around the world conforming to this restrictions, particularly when they are losing.

I find that odd. Do you want an embargo on all information related to people spending money on things that other people might not be able to afford? Personally, I'm not interested in that meal and I find the service at the Rosewood to be really mediocre and the experience to be not worth the money. If someone spends a vast amount of money on something that I can't afford I'm okay hearing about it.

I see today it’s ok for Muslims to kill hundreds of thousands of women and children (Syria) yet a mortal sin if Israelis do the same???

Plans Unveiled for New Metrolink Commuter Rail Service Connecting Moorpark to Goleta
LA County extended its Metro Link after the big earthquake wiped out the I-5 and I-14 freeways to the Antelope Valley. Or it still a puzzle that Ventura and SB County did nothing. But even SD and LA Counties not cross their lines to get more business. ie just governments. Yet a cheaper option would be to run street to rail buses on the Amtrak reails. So there is an option to leave the rail and go on to employment sites. And to pick up passengers from housing areas - ie Ojai, SP, Fillmore, Saticoy, etc. rp ps. Maybe Bakersfield can run a train from Kern County to Mojave and Barstow - to link up to the LA to Vegas train! But i still not clear on how the system makes money. Or is not just a money pit for taxpayers to fill. ie like the LA to Sacramento train.

Wish the headline included 'GOLETA' after 'OLD TOWN' so some readers not confused? Nice photo of the Santa Cruz Market, Fuel Depot and The Habit. But the backward parking seems backward. Most people know how to pull into a parking spot and to back out using cameras, signals and mirrors. Other Cities planted trees down the middle of their main street after removing one lane. And let cars park head to head in that space. And left curb parking. Lancaster also removed all the traffic lights and stop signs. Side streets have to do yields and hope. Or speed limit is 10 mph? for 10 blocks. But more trees need cutting down east of the Hilton Hampton Inn by San Hose Creek. ie the overgrowth is overlapping the city trees. And there never has been a Pedestrian issue - just a lack of parking. Lacaster also demolished many acres of pre war old homes adjacent to the downtown and built modern senior housing. And restored Theaters and Bowling Alleys. It got rid of the lead paint and asbestos too. And old sewer, gas and water lines that were over 100 years old. And put the power and cable lines underground. And added solar. rp

Since we're heading into a solar maximum, we may get more chances at seeing auroras this far south for a couple of years. You can sign up at spaceweather.com for a text message to be sent to you whenever the magnetic K-index in your location indicates an aurora is possibly visible.
A Three-Course Meal at Rosewood Miramar Beach’s Restaurant Caruso’s
What do I think about the dreamy three course prix fixe dinner at Caruso's lovingly described in this article? My reaction is that it is definitely not worthy of publishing since the vast majority of your readers could never afford to pay $165 per person (before taxes and tip) for such a meal. In fact I find it offensive.

We weren't heros for "killing them en mass (sic)," we were heroes for helping end the threat of the Third Reich, which we did by committing atrocities. Again, you need to look at the date. It's almost 80 years since then. We no longer need to carpet bomb cities to achieve results.

RUBAIYAT - you're lying about Syria. There were plenty of protests around the world. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_demonstrations_and_protests_relating_to_the_Syrian_civil_war But again... whataboutwhataboutwhatabout? This is about Israel, not Syria. Looks like you've run out of excuses to support burning children alive by the thousands.

RUBAIYAT - not sure if you've read a history book, but a couple students and a few others did a bit of protesting during Vietnam. Look it up.

As a bike rider, I think it will be dangerous. The cars also have go backwards through the bike lane to park.
