But, as all analysis shows, still better for the long term goal than the continuous rape of the planet from fossil carbon!

Ah, so no wonder your comments are so often displaying generalizations.
Is there an Increase in Landscaping Theft?
Yes, the City has some crazy limit like 8" tall for parkway landscaping. It's a little excessive in my opinion.

Generalization leads to bigotry.

RUBY - so back when women were not allowed to own a business on their own or even open a bank account? Back when African Americans couldn't eat at the same restaurant or swim in the same pool as white people? Back when homosexuals couldn't do ANTHING without losing their jobs, going to jail, definitely not able to marry? Keep crying all those straight white tears.

Seems a bit ahead of itself to me until true affordable alternative exists. But I know this fairly new group needs to make itself relevant. Batteries rape rare earth minerals. Sometimes things that seem good in the moment ultimately hurt the long term goal.

almost THREE HOURS after they started attacking cops and smashing windows. What color do you think the sky is? Kinda worried about your ability to comprehend clear and simple facts.

WAY BACK WHEN IN SB – Surfing By Car?
The photo is certainly not the Santa Barbara harbor. Where was the photo taken?
The state of State: What Would it Take to Rescue Santa Barbara’s State Street?
Thank God there are a few voices of reason like yourself. The rest seem to enjoy wallowing in the excrement of their ultra leftist ideas even when they see the harm. Hopefully this is short term and sanity will be restored. .
The state of State: What Would it Take to Rescue Santa Barbara’s State Street?
Perfect example. Instead of addressing the State of the street, the causes of the empty shops, and the fact there is druggies bothering people, YOU do spelling bees and other non sensical stuff. No comment on the non police pressense. Did I say anything about the new police chief living in SB? Why did you add that in your comment. How about just sticking to the concerns of reviving your slowly dying street? Sometimes I think the locals there do not care what happens to their own main thorofare. Maybe State Street is a mirror of its citizens. What a shame. The Street prior to covid was beautiful. Your councilman are not doing anything to reverse the decline and you are NOT helping!
Santa Barbara City Council Pushes Back on Downtown Parking Meters and Fee Increases
That sounds like a good idea, actually; I've never heard of it. They're already using the license plate cameras so it seems like an easy modification. Locals get the free 75 min, because it's more likely they know where they want to go and spend their money. Visitors who accidentally pull into the wrong lot get a free 15 min to correct themselves, but otherwise are there to hang out and shop, window shop, eat, etc. One other thing about the plate cams, though. SBPD had requested open, warrant-free access to plate cam data, available to any officer at any time. The current process requires paperwork before they can access that data, and I think it should stay that way. I don't want a cop accessing plate cam records except for official business.

Santa Barbara City Council Pushes Back on Downtown Parking Meters and Fee Increases
Congratulations to the city council for "getting this." Boos to the city manager for allowing this to go to the council at all. These parking lots were built to support State Street businesses. The idea was that malls were taking customers away with free parking. Businesses should have paid for this when it was created as they were the beneficiaries. When State Street businesses were interesting/attractive to people not drinking or eating this idea sort of worked but with the decline of customers people have little need to use the paid parking lots. The idea that we should drive them into the lots or assess them for not using the lots is absurd. If the lots are not covering their cost consider repurposing them to something like low income or worker housing.

For what its worth, planting trees in the parkway is not allowed except with city OK. Planting in the parkway is restricted to a low height and people should be able to use the parkway to exit vehicles and such. Not sure what the city would do if called upon to enforce these rules. On the other hand, I have taken clippers with me to cut branches that people failed to control when these intruded across the sidewalk from hedges and trees impeding foot traffic. People are often unaware or insensitive to the things they do not see from the other person's perspective. (As noted, the tree thing is not a theft as no one can grow it again.)
