But that would chase away the customers! :)
Masked Agitators Harassing People on State Street this Weekend
I agree, they like to call themselves First Amendment Auditors. Lompoc, Orcutt and Santa Maria had a lady and her crew going around doing this last year, even walking onto elementary school campuses. I read recently that they had returned and were filming again at Starbuck's drive-thrus. I also heard that playing Disney songs is the best, way to try and make it so they can't use the footage. The lady up north has a u-tube channel and posted her videos there. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Amendment_audit#Legal_status_in_the_United_States

I recently spent some time in Del Mar, and it’s happening in San Diego county as well. Evidently these groups don’t have any political agenda. Their objective seems to be to harass and enrage the local citizens. Their favorite places to harass people are shopping centers and post offices. The theory that I hear is they want people to get so enraged that they push or shove them, in which case they can post it to social media and maybe create lawsuits. Everybody has cameras and are completely covered so you can’t recognize them at all. These people have way too much time in their hands.

WAY BACK WHEN IN SB – Surfing By Car?
You're right - this photo is not in Santa Barbara. It was the only photo of a Dodge Watercar that I could find. I found it on the Library of Congress website. A number of people have also asked about the location. When I use this pic in my Way Back When: Santa Barbara in 1924 book, I will delete the bridge and just focus on the boat.

The "e" on the end of "home" got clipped off. I wrote ed to correct it.

So here we have a tu quoque fallacy and a post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy from the "I can't see anyone else in the video so the room must be empty why are you wearing a mask Jerry" genius.

"How does State St. business and enjoyability look like now vs. back then? " Ah, back then when RENTS WERE AFFORDABLE.

Opening it to cars and making rents affordable are two very different things. The former won't result in the latter.

They just sent out a special assessment vote to pay extra to do what our taxes should do such as wash the sidewalks. Let’s not put lipstick on the pig until we know what the pig is

Yeah, right, it's all the fault of people with tattoos and guitars. The piece is unmitigated bull excrement from some reactionary culture warrior.

"poor political decisions made by voters who elected people who had more consideration for vagrants, shoplifters, rabble-rousers, and other seedy distractions than they did for the shopkeepers, restaurant owners, and the public they served" Typical right wing casual dishonesty.
