VILLAGE PROPERTIES CELEBRATES A MAJOR MILESTONE: $20 BILLION IN SALES

As it enters its 26th year of business, Village Properties is celebrating an astounding milestone: $20 billion in gross sales volume.

The figure alone is enough to bring pride to the 185 agents who are currently contributing to the Santa Barbara County-based firm achieving that goal. But company leaders say an even more meaningful number is 12,900, which reflects how many transactions they’ve closed. Put another way, it’s how many times they have paired people with the perfect place or represented sellers in maximizing the value of their property.

“The best part about our role as realtors is when you make that successful match, knowing you’ve helped connect someone with that special place that fits all their desires. And our agents have done that time and time again over the past 26 years,” said the firm’s co-founder and owner, Renee Grubb. “It’s so rewarding too, to help agents achieve their own personal goals.”

With offices in Montecito, Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez, Village Properties now accounts for nearly a fifth of the region’s residential real estate market. It has grown since its founding. In its first full year in 1997, 25 agents sold a combined $102 million. Last year, Village agents sold $2.3 billion – an increase of over 2000 percent, while median prices grew 463% over that time.
Grubb said the pandemic caused fear and uncertainty, but agents stayed laser-focused on the needs of their clients and community.

Throughout its history, Village Properties has remained true to its roots. As other brokerage firms have merged or been acquired by national or international companies, Village Properties remains steadfastly locally owned and oriented. It is deeply rooted in the community, raising money for teachers to buy needed educational supplies and donating to over 30 other area nonprofits.
“We are so grateful to our clients and agents for making this achievement possible. Their trust and tireless effort only further motivates us to reinvest and continue to best serve the community today and for many, many years to come,” Grubb said.
