Small Town Breeds Great Talent : Santa Barbara Jeweler Wins International Design Award

Santa Barbara, California, Jewelry Designer Gregore Morin has won his 19th American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) Spectrum Award.
The AGTA Spectrum Awards™ is considered the most respected and prestigious creative award for 15 categories of the jewelry industry. Debuting in 1984, Spectrum Awards has honored and recognized designers whose work promotes the artistic use of naturally colored gemstones and cultured pearls in fine jewelry design.

Out of more than 500 entries Gregore Morin won Business/Day Wear – Manufacturing Honors for jewelry appropriate to be manufactured in production quantities. His winning earrings, were constructed using avant-garde techniques and materials, 18K white gold and aluminum, featuring freshwater cultured pearls accented with purple garnets. The earrings were designed with CAD and made using CNC machines.

Gregore and Jennifer-Rabe Jewelers are a husband and wife custom jewelry design team in business locally since 2002. Combined they have 31 Jewelry Design Awards.
