SBPD Taking Applications for the Next Citizens Academy

The Santa Barbara Police Department is now taking applications for the next English language Citizens Academy which will begin on October 9th, 2017.  The Citizens Academy is a great way to learn about the Santa Barbara Police Department, police work, and our community.  During the nine-week program participants will be exposed to police training, investigative techniques, and technology.  They will also have the opportunity to sign up for the ride-along program with officers on patrol.

Classes will be held weekly on Mondays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. until December 4th at the Westside Community Center.  This program is very popular and class size is limited.  There is no cost to participate.  For more information please contact Officer Beth Lazarus at (805) 897-2433 or blazarus@sbpd.com, or visit www.sbpd.com.
