It is with much excitement that Santa Barbara Airbus announces plans to reopen on Monday, November 16th, 2020. “Closing our doors in March was a hard decision, but one we felt necessary for the community and business. We are thrilled at the idea of reopening in time for holiday travel and cannot wait to see passengers again” said Samantha Onnen, Santa Barbara Airbus General Manager.

#RollingResponsibly

Airbus has spent the months of closure updating cleaning and operational procedures to provide the safest service upon reopening. Airbus launched its #RollingResponsibly campaign in August to highlight and streamline the changes in service due to COVID-19. Passengers can feel comfortable on the coach knowing that they will have a row to themselves if traveling alone due to reduced passenger capacity. Santa Barbara Airbus will utilize a sanitizing fogger on vehicles, sanitizing solution on high touch surfaces, and requiring a face mask for all passengers and employees. Air inside the buses is also kept clean through vehicle filtration systems which pull fresh outside air inside and filter it through the bus every three minutes. These changes and more will allow Airbus to reopen with a safe and clean service.

Reopening Plans

Santa Barbara Airbus has been closely monitoring travel demand and TSA numbers and is hopeful that the stable small increase in travel will allow for a successful reopen. “We have seen TSA travel numbers slowly grow over the last month and are hopeful this is a continued growth pattern that will allow for enough demand for a successful reopen” shared Samantha Onnen.

Airbus will reopen with 5 daily roundtrip shuttles to and from LAX. Reservations are strongly encouraged when traveling to guarantee a seat. Reservations can be made online or by calling into the office at 805-964-7759. Santa Barbara Airbus’s office will be open Monday-Friday 8am-1pm in October for phone and email assistance.
