Peoples’ Self-Help Housing Receives $20,000 from Santa Barbara Foundation

This month, Peoples’ Self-Help Housing (PSHH) received a generous gift of $20,000, from the Santa Barbara Foundation. This gift will support the Resident Assistance Fund, which provides direct financial support to residents living at PSHH properties with medical, food, and utility emergencies.

“Although our region is opening up again after modifications to the statewide shelter at home orders, we are still seeing our families experiencing deep financial need,” said John Fowler, PSHH President & CEO. “We are so grateful for the Santa Barbara Foundation’s generous support for our organization and for the Resident Assistance Fund.”

This gift was made through the Santa Barbara Foundation’s COVID-19 Response Effort, which is providing over $1 million in assistance to individuals, families, and organizations actively helping members of the community affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As the effects of the coronavirus change daily life for communities across the Central Coast, PSHH’s Resident Assistance Fund allows PSHH, in the most flexible and effective way, to support any of their 5,000 residents who find themselves in urgent financial need.
