NEW PARENT AND TEACHER SUPPORT GROUPS TO NAVIGATE MENTAL HEALTH

By YouthWell

YouthWell has launched free in-person and virtual Support Groups to help parents and teachers navigate the tween and teen years while managing their own mental wellness. Register for FREE  at youthwell.org/groups/

Our Parent/Caregiver Support groups are skills-building groups to strengthen parent-child relationships and improve communication while addressing the day to day challenges of parenting . Parents learn strategies to recognize their strengths, how to manage stress, and how to handle parenting during conflict.

FamilyTools is a monthly mini series that focuses on specific topics such as navigating digital devices and social media with your child and how to understand the teen brain.

ParentWell is a drop-in group for discussing day to day topics. There is also a specific group for parents of a child with uniquely-wired brains that focuses on the needs of raising neurodiverse youth (ADHD, dyslexia, autism, Tourette’s), addressing topics such as emotional regulation, time management, and how to build relationships with teachers and schools.

ParentConnect provides support to parents of a child struggling with a mental health challenge. Parents learn skills to effectively and compassionately support their child while also setting boundaries, supporting siblings, and managing their own self-care.

LaunchWell is for parents of young adults who are navigating the college years as well as this time of transition as a parent.

TeachWell is a peer support group for teachers of tweens & teens to connect, share challenges, and learn strategies for building trusting relationships with students and get support.

“The Support Groups have made a safe space for me to connect with other parents in our community and learn how to build a stronger connection with my child.” -SB Parent

“I enjoyed TeachWell. I took many notes and found it a great place to share experiences and ask questions. We all benefit when we help each other.” -Teacher, Orcutt Academy High School
