LOCAL FUNDRAISING ASSOCIATION INSTALLS NEW BOARD
Lauren Trujillo, CFRE, Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation Director, appointed Board President

Santa Barbara, Ventura, Calif. — Association of Fundraising Professionals Santa Barbara/Ventura Counties Chapter announces Lauren Trujillo, CFRE, as the Chapter’s Board President. Ms. Trujillo is the Foundation Director for the Santa Barbara Public Library Foundation and brings her skills as a local community leader with a Certified Fund Raising Executive credential, a prestigious credential recognized worldwide. Ms. Trujillo first came to Santa Barbara to attend UCSB, where she received a B.A. in History. She received her Masters in Library and Information Science from UCLA and has worked with several nonprofits and organizations in Santa Barbara, including the Isla Vista Memorial Project, the Santa Barbara Mission Archive-Library, the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Santa Barbara Historical Museum. She serves on the board for the Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara, United for Libraries, Women’s Literary Voices, the Northside Optimist Club, the Association for Fundraising Professionals, the Environmental Defense Center, and is a member of the Junior League of Santa Barbara.
“Lauren is passionate about community and brings that energy to ensure equity, access, and integrity to the fundraising profession. AFPSBV is headed into 2023 stronger and ready to support our members with Lauren’s strong leadership,” said Past Co-President Adrienne De Guevara. Ms. De Guevara is the Director of Development at Santa Barbara Choral Society.
Past Co-President Gerry Pantoja, CFRE, added “Lauren brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective on the sector to this role. Our chapter members and friends in the community will benefit greatly from this as she leads the board to address the ever-changing needs and challenges facing fundraisers who are working to make a difference.” Mr. Pantoja serves as Director of Philanthropy at Ventura College Foundation.
AFPSBV Chapter is an excellent resource for nonprofit professionals locally. The Chapter holds monthly training sessions on diverse topics, organizes annual professional development symposiums, and celebrates National Philanthropy Day by honoring local philanthropists, volunteers, and fundraisers.
