During this unprecedented time with the pandemic, Erica Brown is thrilled to announce that her clothing boutique, Dylan Star, will be moving to a new location at 110 Anacapa in the Funk Zone. When Dylan Star opened its doors, Erica’s goal was to dress everyone in Santa Barbara. After two years in business (sharing a space with Salon U on State Street), Erica was ready to expand Dylan Star into a bigger location in order to accomplish this goal and create a section in her store to be dedicated to men.
In Downtown Santa Barbara, we are seeing department stores closing their doors for good, and retail vacancies on the rise on State Street. With the current state of shopping becoming less accessible to our locals, Dylan Star wanted to be here for the whole community, men and women, in a unique way and offer something different- a personal and local experience. Shopping online is convenient, especially now, but it’s not the same as an in person styling session. It isn’t fun. Which is why Erica Brown wants to make shopping fun again!
“At Dylan Star, I believe in the experience of shopping. That there is no substitute for personal connection. With that said, our team worked hard on this incredible re-design of our new space in the Funk Zone to provide this new and never before seen experience for each and everyone that walks through our doors.” – Erica Brown
Erica Brown’s core purpose is to help her clients feel good. She provides an incredible and unique styling service that makes them feel comfortable in their skin – as if they were shopping with their best friend. She hopes that those who feel especially insecure about shopping, can come to her and leave with a newfound confidence.
During this transition, Dylan Star has received an outpour of community support that has brought so much joy and motivation for Erica to create new Dylan Star experiences for everyone. She designed multiple ways to shop virtually on her social media channels and even offers a new Dylan Delivered program that provides a fashion delivery service for curated and custom gift baskets or boxes for clients.
She will be launching her new location with a soft opening on September 16th, 2020, which also happens to be her two year anniversary of owning Dylan Star. Following up the soft opening, there will be a grand reveal the weekend of September 18-20th with a three-day, social-distanced extravaganza featuring local DJs, exclusive shopping experiences, as well as giveaway opportunities for clients who sign up to attend the scheduled event.
