Residents and employees reign victorious as the 2024 national CyberCycle Madness Champions after cycling just 17 miles more than their competitor in the final round. This is the second year in a row the Samarkand team has won the championship.

The competition started in early March with teams from 57 senior living communities across the country. Each round the teams cycled for the most mileage. In the final round, the Samarkand team cycled 1,485 miles, beating out Dallas Retirement Community in Dallas, Oregon.

In all the Samarkand team consisted of 77 riders made up of both residents and employees.

“We have so many residents and employees here committed to a wellness lifestyle,” said Kelsey Roberts, wellness coordinator at the senior living community. “This is a fun way to get some exercise and earn bragging rights along the way.”
