Carpinteria Children’s Project Selects First Development Director

Carpinteria Children’s Project has announced the selection of Tiffany Lopez as the organization’s first-ever Development Director. She began serving her new role on October 10th.

Lopez brings 15 years of nonprofit management experience and a decade of development experience, including donor cultivation and stewardship, major and capital gift campaigns, strategic planning, and special events. She is a certified Toastmaster through Toastmasters International and a certified meeting planner through the Convention Industry Council. Additionally, she is a graduate of the Women’s Economic Ventures SET program and holds a certification for marketing and fundraising for nonprofit organizations from Cal Lutheran University.

Executive Director Teresa Alvarez expressed great enthusiasm for the employment of the Director of Development, stating, “We are thrilled to have Tiffany join our team as the Director of Development. Her extensive background and expertise will be instrumental in guiding our organization’s growth in a creative, inclusive, and sustainable manner. We look forward to working with her to realize the goals for a bright future for the families and children we serve.”

Lopez is an Oxnard native. She attended Villanova Preparatory High School In Ojai and received her Bachelor’s degree from California State University, Sacramento, in Political Science with a Double Minor in Cultural Anthropology and Communications. Lopez is a graduate of The Ventura County Leadership Academy. She is a founding Ventura County Young Leaders Society member and created the annual VC YoPro Mega Mixer to promote networking, business, and philanthropy opportunities for young professionals.

She has a passion for her community and philanthropy and thus enjoys coordinating charity events and community engagement. Lopez serves as Chairwoman for the City of Oxnard Commission on Community Relations and is a Member of the Oxnard Downtown Management District board of directors. She was honored with the NAACP-VC Community Service Award in 2018, The Oxnard Rotary Four Way Test Award in 2011, and The Pacific Coast Business Times Ventura County Young Leader of the Year Award in 2012. Lopez enjoys yoga, tennis, traveling, and spending time with her family and dog, Tobi, during her spare time.

Carpinteria Children’s Project prepares Carpinteria Valley children to enter kindergarten ready for success, regardless of the challenges they face and promotes access to a strong network of resources Carpinteria families need to thrive.

About Carpinteria Children’s Project
The Carpinteria Children’s Project (CCP) began in 2009 as part of the Carpinteria Unified School District (CUSD) as a way to increase the number of children who are kindergarten-ready. Since 2016, CCP became an independent non-profit organization and continues to serve the Carpinteria community.The Carpinteria Children’s Project provides early childhood education to the families of Carpinteria, from 18 months to 5 years old. CCP also offers whole-family and community programs and services through their Family Resource Center (FRC). CCP is proud to be the only dual language preschool in Carpinteria.
