Four dedicated community members have joined the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer’s Association California Central Coast Chapter, which is headquartered in Santa Barbara. In this role, they will support the Chapter’s mission to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia through global research, risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support at the local level.
Jill Rushing Fonte is the Public Information Officer and Director of Marketing at Sansum Clinic in Santa Barbara, having been responsible for the Clinic’s marketing strategy, branding and promotions since 2010. Rushing Fonte is passionate about giving back to the community and has served as a member of the board of directors of the American Heart Association and the Washington Elementary School Parent-Teacher Organization. She is enthusiastic about helping ensure people in the community are aware of the myriad resources available through the Association.
Jodi Wilson Price is the VP of Sales for GOFINITY, with over 25 years of experience in the marketing and sales space for various industries. Along with her husband Hal, Wilson Price serves a variety of local nonprofits in Santa Barbara County, including Girls Inc. of Carpinteria, Boys and Girls Club of Carpinteria, Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation, the Alcazar
Theatre and The Lynda Fairley Carpinteria Art Center. She is inspired to support the Alzheimer’s Association on a deeper level to honor her grandma and Hal’s mother, who passed from the disease.
Donald R. Logan was raised in Santa Barbara and has spent most of his career overseeing a variety of corporations as a vice president or president, most recently for La Cumbre Country Club and Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara, where he also serves on the board of directors. Logan holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a BA from Claremont McKenna College. He aims to help support the Association’s dementia research and local care efforts in honor of his father, who is living with mild cognitive impairment.
Pat Snyder has over 30 years of experience in community college and nonprofit fundraising and management and another 10 years of consulting for a wide variety of nonprofits in Santa Barbara and Issaquah, WA. She has served as a member on the boards of Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation, Santa Barbara Children’s Museum (MOXI), the SBCC Foundation and Center for Successful Aging. Snyder joined the Central Coast Chapter Board of Directors as an opportunity to give back and ensure the Association’s resources are available to those in need throughout the community, just as they were to her when she was a caregiver for her mother with Alzheimer’s and her aunt with vascular dementia.
“I am very excited to have these new additions to our Alzhiemer’s Association Central Coast Board,” said Board Chair Katina Zaninovich. “These individuals have long ties to our community and have done much in various fields of nonprofit and philanthropic organizations that provide for the greater good. Their personal connections to the disease and their collective energy, expertise and judgment will drive our mission forward.”
According to the 2021 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures report, 6.2 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s dementia. In California, the number of people aged 65 and older living with the disease is expected to increase by 21.7% to 840,000 in 2025, and there are currently 1.12 million caregivers within the state providing a total value of $18.126 billion in unpaid care.
