Santa Barbara’s newest member of the city council has seen quite a bit in the first week and knows he has a lot to learn.
At the same time, Oscar Gutierrez says his solutions might get some early looks not only in his area, District 3, but downtown which needs help right now.
“Getting to know all of the departments, what they do and who they are, has been eye opening,” said Gutierrez who is 34 years old. “There are subjects that I am facing that I have never ever thought of but it is gratifying that I know it is for the greater good,” he said.

Maybe this man doesn’t know everything about the city departments but I bet he’ll be a quick learner. After all, we have people elected to offices in Washington D. C. who have no clue and don’t seem to want to learn.
I’ll give him once chance…but if he starts talking like the bought and paid for mayor and her cronies then it’s over for me and he goes on the naughty list. C’mon Oscar!
Congratulations glad I voted for him.
He will get co-opted by the city employee unions, just like all the rest of them and run up more debt for the Millennials to pay off.
