The stolen vehicle was subsequently involved in a non-injury collision in the area of Butterfly Lane and Channel Drive. The driver fled on foot and was apprehended through a coordinated effort between the Santa Barbara Police Department, California Highway Patrol and the Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect was identified as being 33-year-old Davion Dwyann Jones of Compton, California. He was arrested by the Santa Barbara Police Department for felony vehicle theft, false impersonation and driving on a suspended license. Jones was released to the custody of Sheriff’s deputies who a fter further investigation arrested Jones for felony first-degree burglary, resisting arrest and felony false impersonation.
Jones also has three out of county outstanding warrants including one for residential burglary in San Diego County. Jones is being held at the Santa Barbara County Jail without bail.

The third suspect wanted for breaking into a residence in Montecito last night, July 18, 2018 is in custody. At approximately 2:30 p.m, today, July 19, 2018 a vehicle was reported stolen from the 1100 block of Coast Village Road, the same area where the wanted residential burglary suspect was last seen fleeing from deputies at approximately 5:30 a.m. this morning.

A Sheriff’s deputy observed one of the suspects point what appeared to be a handgun at him. The deputy fired a single round from his service weapon. The suspects continued to flee. Deputies contacted the victim inside the residence and determined that she was shaken but unharmed. A suspect vehicle registered out of Los Angeles County was located in the driveway.
Deputies and California Highway Patrol Officers quickly secured a perimeter and began searching for the suspects. An emergency notification was sent to residents in the immediate area requesting them to shelter in place. Additional resources were called in to help, including a Sheriff’s K-9 team, a Santa Barbara County Air Support helicopter, the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team and detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division. Just after 11:00 p.m. a suspect identified as being 26-year-old Adolph Washington of Los Angeles was located hiding in bushes in the area of Wyant Ln. and Bonnie Rd and was arrested. A discarded handgun was located near the victim’s residence.
The search continued throughout the night to locate the two suspects who were still at large. Another K9 team from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search. After all leads were exhausted, deputies deployed saturation patrols throughout the area. Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team members remained on scene and Santa Barbara Police Officers also responded to assist.
At approximately 5:30 a.m. this morning, July 19, 2018, deputies conducting saturation patrols located the suspects in the 1200 block of Coast Village Road. A male juvenile suspect from Los Angeles was detained but the third suspect fled. Another emergency notification was sent to residents and businesses in the area requesting them to shelter in place and to be on the lookout for the remaining suspect, a black male in his late teens or early twenties last seen wearing a white t-shirt. A CHP K9 was brought in to assist with the search. A Ventura County Sheriff’s helicopter also responded to assist, but was unable to search due to the marine layer.

The Sheriff’s Office is also requesting Montecito residents who may have surveillance video of the suspects to please contact the Sheriff’s Criminal Investigations Division at 805-681-4150. Also, please call to report any recent suspicious activity or unreported crimes.
The deputy who fired his service weapon was uninjured and there is no evidence to indicate that any of the suspects were injured. This incident remains under investigation.
Washington was booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail on first-degree burglary charges and is being held on $250,000 bail. The juvenile was booked at Santa Barbara County Juvenile Hall on first-degree burglary charges.

Just before 10:30 p.m. last night the Santa Barbara County Public Safety Dispatch Center received a report of a residential burglary interrupted in the 100 block of Santa Elena in Montecito.
A resident was inside at the time, heard the suspects break in and called 911 for help. Three black male suspects, one wearing a white t-shirt who were possibly armed fled the residence. Sheriff’s deputies and CHP officers secured a perimeter and began searching for the suspects.
An emergency notification was sent to residents in the area requesting they shelter in place. A Sheriff’s K-9 team, a Santa Barbara County Air Support team, the Sheriff’s Special Enforcement team and detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division responded to assist in the search. One suspect was located and detained. There was an active search to locate the two suspects. Saturation patrols conducted overnight.
Suspects located at approximately 5:30 am this morning in the 1200 block of Coast Village Road. One detained the other fled. There is an active search for the third suspect. Residents in immediate area are advised to shelter in place. The suspect is described as a black male adult in his late teens or early twenties wearing a white T-shirt.
Anyone in the area who sees this suspect Is asked to call 911 immediately. If you are not in the area, you are asked to avoid Coast Village Road in the 1200 block due to law enforcement activity.

Sheriff Deputies are looking for suspects in Montecito, they think they’re armed. It’s near Santo Tomas Lane but surrounding areas are shut down and residents were warned to shelter in place.
A helicopter was seen overhead and so far there’s been one arrest but there may be more armed suspects out there.
What’s going on?! A friend got a text from the County saying “shelter in place”. There are three armed suspects. Where is this?
KEYT says three black men were attempting to break into a residence on Santa Elena and the homeowner called 911. But all of this, SWAT, helicopters, sheriff and CHP everywhere for an attempted break in??? That makes no sense….

Sounds weird heard it was 2 Black Guys in front of the Bottle Shop, one had been caught earlier from the 3 so there was only 2 one was got other ran heard nothing about guns drawn..?

These men and women are heroes!!! Anytime police do a great job, no one praises them like fire fighters. They have gotten an unfair bad reputation from the media and so many of these organizations, but they are true heroes that step into the unknown to face dangerous criminals. I think it’s time that people start praising them as much as they do fire fighters, and realize even if they are hateful and leary towards law-enforcement, the moment they need someone that’s going to be the first person they call. It’s unbelievable the tolerance of disrespect shown to our law-enforcement officers in this day and age, it’s unacceptable.

Good grief. We have had about enough. No one told us to shelter in place. What is up with the emergency network? We would have been killed if we hadn’t evacuated before the debris flow and we were in the voluntary zone. I had a premonition and lied to my husband and told him we were moved and now in the mandatory. We are only alive because of that premonition. Scary. We are now the only habitable house on our street moving back in Friday. Turn lights on? I turned lights off. Wrong?

Frederick is a clever fellow and knows that all criminals are black and all blacks are criminals. He also understands that public roads are really private if you have enough money, and that freedom of movement and association doesn’t apply when it comes to “affluent neighborhoods”. Frederick is looking forward to Putin’s upcoming visit to his home away from home in Washington and the ongoing Russianization of America.

Tiger Woods has stayed at the Biltmore; would he have been stopped once he got off the freeway? Nat King Cole used to come to S.B. “Los Angeles” has actually moved into Montecito. Wanting to get “out of the city” they come here and try to turn Montecito into L.A. A realtor said she showed a nice Spanish style home to a couple who loved that it didn’t look like “a Beverly Hills” house. They bought it, tore the home down and built a “Beverly Hills” type house. Not an isolated incident. There are many stories about how the community is being changed to embrace L.A. style living.
Ha. What I mean is..a lot of crime happening here in Santa Barbara is being done by people that are from Los Angeles. Our city council wanted an explosion of growth and with that growth came a lot of people from the LA area including a lot of extra crime. When crimes are reported on edhat they always say where the person is from so I’m not making this up.

According to my neighbor people have been coming up here from LA since the beginning of time to commit crime mostly burglaries…So the criminals started coming up here long ago now there are more crooks because of the Montecito disaster were getting the dumb ones that are thinking there is easy money to be had. They got diamonds in their eyes…

These affluent neighborhoods should consider having 24/7 checkpoints at all major roads that have neighborhood access. Most motorist would simply get waved through but anyone looking suspicious like they don’t belong there would be stopped and questioned.

Don’t leave your keys in your vehicle especially when it is running, don’t leave important things in your vehicle either. Lock up your home like Fort Knox even if you leave for 5 minutes get alarms for your cars and home secure your properties. Get motion lights all around your property consider home protection a firearm or dog .12 gauge pumps are nice just the racking of a .12 gauge will sent smart thieves packing. Be aware of your surroundings if something don’t feel right call the police and let them check things out for you it’s better to be safe than sorry.
