The dog statue on Garden Street is all dressed up for the Fiesta holiday.
For most holidays and occassions, the residents of 2010 Garden Street dress up the dog statue outside their home.
Now, who knows the actual history behind this dog statue?
I had been told long long ago that the statue was in honor of a dog that had pulled members of the family out of a burning home, saving their lives. I’m not sure if this is the truth, or just a Santa Barbara urban legend, but I always think fondly of the loyalty and love that we are shown by our canine companions when I pass by the statue and remember the story.
A Dog’s Story.
