On August 5, 2018, at about 12:15 a.m., UCSB Officers and Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the Isla Vista Foot Patrol station, responded to a residence in the 6600 block of Pasado Road on a report of an injured man that had been assaulted.
Deputies and officers arrived and learned that a 19 year old man, who is enrolled for his first year at Santa Barbara City College, was attacked by a group of approximately six unidentified Hispanic males, ranging in ages from their late teens to early twenties and wearing tank tops. The attack came while the man was attending a large party and attempted to strike up a conversation with an unknown subject, also described as a Hispanic male with short black hair. The assailants left the area prior to the arrival of law enforcement.
The man sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Goleta Valley Hospital for treatment. This investigation is on-goi ng and the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone who has information about the incident to call (805) 683-2724.
