Does anyone know why the News-Press has taken the American flag off the flagpole on their building?

Isn’t it politically incorrect or racist these days to support the US. Just being sarcastic (sort of) and hoping they are just replacing it with a nice new one 🙂
How is it “racist these days to support the US”?
I’ve had a P.O. box for 15 years at main downtown office. They have become terrible about raising the flag on the corner of canon perdido. So much that I waited in line the other day to ask a counter clerk why they don’t have the flag up. He was upset that I was asking him, and said “he would try to find the bag that it is kept in.” What is going on with people?!?
A whole bunch of multi million dollar earning black athletes are anti US… flag, anthem and all. So if you’re pro US that would make you against them according to one school of thought. Pro football is starting to feel the impact and trying to hide the knee-takers in the locker rooms and not show our national anthem on TV. Glad I don’t care to watch it anyway.
I was being sarcastic if you read the whole comment but it’s true that the ultra left is soooo hypersensitive that if you even say your a proud American then your automatically racist. That’s the world we are currently living in..do you not know what’s going on in this country?
maybe they are getting a new one? it is illegal to display a worn and tattered flag
Not illegal to display a worn or tattered flag! A flag is just a piece of cloth. The 1st Amendment says we have freedom of speech and thought. If I want to fly a US flag that is faded and torn upside down at half-mast I am protected in doing so. This right is hugely more important that veneration of a material object. Sometimes one has to wonder how this nation lasted so long when people continually lapse back into tribal symbolism.

Just because you can legally do something does not make it right. For example, an image of Hillary on each sheet of usable toilet paper. It is legal, but are you okay with that? Go ahead and publically burn a Koran, see what happens.
