Update by Santa Maria Police Department
Destiny Navarrette (17 yrs.) was reported missing on 9/4/18. On 9/5/18 Navarette was located in Mexicali, Mexico. Santa Maria Police Detectives have been working with Mexican government officials and Navarette has been relocated to the United States.

Destiny Navarrette, 17 years old, was reported missing on 9/4/18. Destiny was last seen at her home in Santa Maria on 9/4/18 at around 1 pm. She is a student at Allan Hancock College and was scheduled to attend class on the evening of 9/4/18 at 6 pm. As of yet, authorities have not been able to confirm if she attended class. Destiny may be driving a green 2002 Mazda Tribute (License plate # 4ZAF280).

Seriously! Do people not take pictures of their kids anymore? The pictures used for missing persons are usually bad..never understood that either.

I always wonder when the best photo a family can produce is from social media, or a grainy cropped photo of some group picture. Most people can produce lots of good pictures of their children.
One of my daughters refused to have her picture taken all during her teen years, ran if she saw a camera. Don’t judge people if they don’t have photos of their children. Also, possible they just don’t have a camera.
