The City recently completed extensive pedestrian improvements on lower Milpas Street. The Lower Milpas Pedestrian Improvements Project enhances the East Beach neighborhood by improving safety and eliminating barriers to walking for residents and visitors. Improvements include new sidewalks, access ramps, lighting, landscaping, and intersection signal modifications along the east side of Milpas Street and Calle Puerto Vallarta. This $1.6 million project was made possible by Active Transportation Program Grant funds.
Join the City in celebrating the reopening of the Cabrillo Ball Park, along with the completion of the adjacent Lower Milpas Pedestrian Improvements Project, on Monday, September 10 at 1 p.m. at the Cabrillo Ball Park, 800 Cabrillo Boulevard.
Blame, Blame, Blame. Have you considered that the landowners around the area did not want to sell? Maybe, jus maybe the city got rights of way so they could to improve it as much as possible. That there railroad has a lot sway and is a herculean effort to get anything from them out of safety concerns and good ole regulation that makes RR ped crossings. There is little doubt it provides better pedestrian walkways. Go to any other global area and you will realize how good you have it. Be thankful!
