All the historical trees were cut down a little while ago on the corner of Micheltorena and State Street near the Merrill Lynch and Village properties buildings.
These trees were 400 years old and I’m looking for the real answer as to why they were torn out. I heard it was a “health hazard” because they might fall, but those trees have been there forever and were just fine. Now it’s just a pile of dirt in the area. The owner of the property does not live in town.
Did the historical society ok this?
Below are the before photos from Google Maps
Below are the after photos:
So this actually is fake news or maybe just an unsubstantiated freak out ….they were not historical, they were not 400 years old and they were not healthy and haven’t been so for years.
Denuding the landscape is in current vogue with the White House administration’s policy.
Let’s realize that Climate Change is also “Fake News.”
That’s funny, because after 40 years, just like coral trees, humans too are subject to limb failure. Perhaps they should be removed as well.
