Fine to sharpen your own shovel–if you know how and have a file. Otherwise try Buena Tools.
Unfortunately the guys/shop (someone please tell me the name) that used to sharpen all tools left Santa Barbara years ago. Now you have to take your loppers, saws, shovels, etc to Buena Tools and they ship your stuff off to Ventura to get the things sharpened. I wish the old guy I knew years ago, “Monty,” was still around with his antique wheel stone sharpener. He would sharpen knives and such so they were like razors. Fingers watch out.
That sounds li,e a euphemism—but I just don’t know for what. “Yeah, I’m going to the flea market to get my shovel sharpened.” Heh.
