From Carp to Goleta

Flying from the Carp Salt Marsh toward the East recently, the air was clear and colors exquisite. Turning toward SB the 101 project is coming along, and at upper-right, you can see them starting on the new section of bridge lanes. Next are two adjacent views of the San Ysidro Inn flood repairs (southern view in the white inset at the bottom).

Casa de Maria hasn’t changed much, with no major construction in the process yet. Maybe after this rain, the northwestern Goleta area might begin shifting from brown to green. A new building phase is in process SW of 101 and Los Carneros, including apartments. The view to Point Conception was also beautiful, though to our surprise it had light haze even after a strong wind off the ocean.

  1. Cachuma & Jameson are up only 0.2% & 1.5% respectively, despite 2-3 inches of rain in the watershed area. Hope subsequent storms can fill them with water and not silt. Anyone seen reports of damage?
