Work at the corner of Calle Real and Turnpike finally got underway in earnest recently for the new Starbucks. The applicant is listed as Jay Higgins, Amity Group Commercial.
On another note, the Galleria Building at State and La Cumbre recently closed escrow at $27million. Buyer listed as Target SB LLC.
Was hoping for a Rudys!!
YES!!! Hopefully this one has a drive thru!!!!
Allowing a drive-thru is not good, idling cars are major polluters. What’s wrong with “another Starbucks”? There must be so many because they are doing a lot of business.
Starbucks is the best coffee place, ever.
Hopefully it won’t take business away from the Goleta Coffee Shop or the Java Hut. Local mom-n-pop shops are going the way of the dodo bird.
You’re kidding, right??
ANOTHER STARBUCKS?! Good god
There are only three Starbucks on State Street in the seven blocks between Haley and Victoria Streets. This is really unfair to downtowners who don’t want to have to walk a block or two for their Starbucks fix. (The two Starbucks on gh at us about.W. Carrillo just off State Street don’t count.) Suggest to corporate management that next time they may want to look at how to build up the Starbucks presence downtown, if for no other reason than it gives Europeans and other foreign visitors something to laugh at us about.
Another corporate sugar and caffeine injection facility being built conveniently next to a high school.
