Those who grew up here mostly didn’t have driver’s ed in h.s. & our usual weather doesn’t correct their misleading belief that tail-gating, sharp turns on wet pavement, excessive speed, etc. aren’t dangerous. Those who grew up in snow country and anywhere that heavy rains are normal do their best not to be included in accidents caused by ignorant drivers.
Car did not lose control. Driver lost control of car.
SBHS used to teach driver’s ed using simulators where we’d watch a video at the front of the room. No mechanical/inertial feedback back then, but it would be cool if a modern virtual reality-based simulator could allow students to experience things like spinouts on black ice.
