Actor and local resident Jeff Bridges stars in a new Super Bowl commercial for Stella Artois.
Bridges reprised his famous character from Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1998 film “The Big Lebowski” for Belgian beer company Stella Artois.
Sarah Jessica Parker’s “Sex and the City” character Carrie Bradshaw joins Bridges for the throw-back character commercial.
Bridges and his wife Susan Geston are longtime residents of the Santa Barbara area. He was recently awarded the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2019 Golden Globes. Parker is currently starring in and executive producing the HBO series “Divorce,” which was recently renewed for a third season.
In case you’re wondering, yes, he does say “the Dude abides.”

I haven’t figured out why celebrities want to do commercials. Seems sort of degrading to me. They don’t have enough money already? The funniest are the milk ads with a white milk mustache, they don’t seem to know how ridiculous they look.
just an awful, awful commercial for so many reasons.
Actually I thought that it was quite funny. I guess that we have very different tastes….

I’ve seen much worse. It does have some humor at least. And several actors will be getting royalties from it, besides the lead actors!
Some celebrities still like to have the exposure. I’m sure they do know how ridiculous they look in the milk commercials. They probably had fun doing them too 😉
