For the second time this week, Santa Barbara Airport (SBA) has announced a new nonstop destination to its lineup.
During a press conference on Thursday afternoon, it was announced that Sacramento is the latest addition. Flights will be offered daily for nonstop service to Sacramento International Airport (SMF) beginning April 16, 2019. Booking will be available February 1, 2019.
Also announced was the increase in the number of flights to Oakland and Las Vegas to two flights per day starting May 1.
Contour Airlines became part of SBA’s carrier roster last October with nonstop service to Oakland and Las Vegas. Flights to Sacramento will be offered via Contour Airline’s ERJ-135 aircraft fleet, which provides first-rate amenities, including an in-flight entertainment system, 36” seat pitch leather seats (equivalent to first class), a free checked bag, and complimentary beverage and snack service.
According to Contour CEO Matt Chaifetz in a previous press release, “For Santa Barbara residents, traveling from your hometown airport is now an opportunity to save both time and money. Contour can have you at your destination in less time than it takes to drive to LAX or Burbank.”
Currently Santa Barbara Airport offers nonstop flights to the following destinations: Dallas (American Airlines), Denver (United Airlines and Frontier Airlines), Las Vegas (Contour Airlines), Los Angeles (United Airlines), Minneapolis (Sun Country Airlines), Oakland (Contour Airlines), Phoenix (American Airlines), Portland (Alaska Airlines), Salt Lake City (Delta), San Francisco (United Airlines), Seattle (Alaska Airlines).
