Just before midnight on March 30, 2019, a Sheriff’s deputy on foot patrol in downtown Solvang contacted 29-year-old Erik Morales of Lompoc sitting inside a parked vehicle with an open bottle of beer. A subsequent search of his vehicle revealed 18 small plastic bags of cocaine, each weighing approximately one gram, hidden inside a cowboy boot.
Morales was booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail on charges of possession of narcotics for sale. He was released on his own recognizance on March 31, 2019. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 24, 2019.
“I don’t always sell cocaine, but when I do, it’s in plain view with an open container.”
