It must be the International Space Station because it was recently announced that it could be seen in our area and that the “BEST” (clearest, near the Big Dipper) view of it would be tomorrow, Sunday evening from 8:45-8:50 p.m. Set your phones to remind you 🙂
If it was parallel to the ridge behind the city then it might be a type of lenticular cloud.
Definitely not the ISS. Good advice for phone reminder, though!
We watched it from the Westmont Public Telescope Night tonight. It was a product of the high altitude winds we had that were making the Moon look like it was underwater through the scopes. Appears to be a singleton of a type of cloud called Stratocumulus undulatus.
