City of Goleta Welcomes New Deputy City Manager

The City of Goleta is pleased to share that Kristine “Kristy” Schmidt has been hired as the new Deputy City Manager. She will begin her new role with the City on June 24, 2019.

Kristy has spent the last 22 years working for the City of Santa Barbara in a variety of positions. She began as an Administrative Analyst with the City Administrator’s Office and a Human Resources Analyst. After five years in that role she became the Employee Relations Manager for the City Administrator’s Office. For the last five years, Kristy has served as the Director of Administrative Services. During her tenure with the City of Santa Barbara she also received her JD from Santa Barbara College of Law. Before beginning her career in government, Kristy received a BA in Spanish from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

“I am very excited to begin working with Kristy,” said Michelle Greene, City of Goleta City Manager. “Her experience working at the City of Santa Barbara has set her on a path for success as our Deputy City Manager. She brings a wide variety of skills and new ideas to the position, and will be a great addition to the team.”
