Caribbean drug traffickers who come into the states via Florida?
More likely tourists from Europe that rent Harleys in Fla. and ride cross country. Probably picked up some guns in Texas or Arizona and wanted to try them out before flying home from San Fran…. or not.
Doesn’t surprise me. Georgia is an open carry state. You can get drunk as a skunk in a bar and be carrying a firearm. Just a bunch of good old boys (idiots)
My memory of GA was its NOT an open carry state but is v very simple to obtain a CCW. (I had one when I lived there) One of the limitations on the cary permit was you can’t carry in places that serve alcohol, public congratulations such as sporting events and festivals, schools, and a host of other limits. As for getting drunk in a bar, it always amazed me that you couldn’t buy a 6 pack of beer on a Sunday but you could drive to a local bar and drink as much as you want. Seemed to encourage DUI. Claiming the state of Georgia is “just a bunch of good old boys” is pretty ignorant. Of course there is an element of racism and ignorance but overall its a rewarding place to live for many reasons, not the least of which was affordable cost of living.
Georgia is a two-tier state in terms of population. You have your “good ‘ol boys” with a shotgun rack in the back of their dusty truck, and your “city slickers” with a side-arm in their BMW. When they “get to drinkin’, by the time they get a big, red nose, it’s hard to tell one from the other.” Some people love Georgia the same way they love an occasional rebel yell.
Santa Barbara has recently evolved a core group that thinks the leftist agenda is normative; anything else is aberrational. Nice to see this almost exclusively leftist orientation is finally getting pushback. Perhaps we can once again become a more cohesive community when electing members to non-partisan offices so they can become truly non-partisan. Turning the clock back to the days of Mayor Harriet Miller.
Spoken by one who thinks fascism is normal.
When you point a gun in someones face or show of force in a threatening manner with a weapon it’s brandishing.
