Santa Barbara County firefighters contained a brush fire along Highway 1 Wednesday evening.
Fire crews responded near Black Road in the Santa Maria area and discovered a 1/4 acre brush fire. They were able to contain the fire as it grew to 1/2 acre and remained on the scene for more of an hour to mop up.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
