Santa Barbara County firefighters are working on a small brush fire in the center divider of Highway 101 near Los Alamos.
Crews arrived on scene around 2:17 p.m. Thursday and discovered approximately one acre of light grass burning in the center divider near Alisos Canyon Road, just south of Los Alamos.
California Highway Patrol is assisting with traffic in the area as smoke is affecting visibility on the roadway.
A fire investigator is on the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
What do you think? The old trailer chain dragging causing sparks ignited the dry grass?
Or, Fast Eddie flipped his cig out the window while going 65?
Most likely scenario is a clogged up old catalytic converter that finally blew out some of the clog(a very very hot clog) and started a fire. More common than you’d think.
