At least they are not on foot up on the 154 anymore.
About 8 years ago or so I picked up two *very* handsome *very* young skater boys who had their thumbs stuck out to hitch a ride on Cabrillo Blvd. I lectured them about hitching and told them to find a better way to get around.
These guys were escapees sounds like the car was there to pick them up..
