Saturday afternoon at approximately 4:40pm, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire at 5995 Cuesta Verde Drive in the Goleta valley.
Santa Barbara County Fire Department initially responded with 4 engines and a battalion chief.
That response was upgraded to 1 additional engine and a breathing support after initial report on conditions. The initial report on conditions was of an approximately 2000 square foot single family single story residence, with significant fire throughout the entire house. There was heavy smoke and heavy fire coming from at least 3 sides of the structure upon the first arriving resources.
Engine companies immediately began to extinguish the fire with an aggressive interior attack, as well as vertical ventilation operations.
The fire was knocked down after approximately 25-30 min and no injuries have been reported.
The cause is under investigation.
