On October 31, 2019, Detectives assisted Santa Barbara County Probation in a sex offender compliance check.
Ten “290” registrants currently on probation were contacted to ensure they were following terms and conditions of their probation that applied during Halloween, including not handing out candy, not having their porch lights on, and not having any Halloween holiday decorations. All were found to be in compliance.
The operation was part of an ongoing collaborative effort between the Santa Maria Police Department and Santa Barbara County Probation to ensure registered sex offenders living in the city limits are complying with the rules, regulations, and law.
Probably a full trick or Treat bag of 20’s.
And how much does monitoring these varmints cost us?
