The trial for a Goleta woman accused of driving and crashing an Amtrak bus under the influence of methamphetamine has been postponed.
Laura Mae Gish, 51, was arrested on January 18, 2019, after the bus she was driving crashed and overturned near Los Alamos. Emergency personnel responded and determined the bus was carrying 24 passengers and 7 of them sustained injuries.
The bus originated in Davis, California and was picking up passengers to take to the Santa Barbara train station with the end destination of San Diego. The bus lost control and went off the highway, ending up on its side.
Gish appeared in a Santa Maria courtroom on Wednesday but the judge changed her trial date to January 13.
