How come everyone makes it sound like the victim was at fault when it was the driver was distracted?
the person was 91….second over-90 hurt this month [first guy died]. I was leaving Paseo Nuevo at 6pm Saturday and in the crosswalk, with correct light saying Pedestrians go, when a car whooshed through at 40 mph minimum narrowly missing my partner and I. C’mon police, do your job, this happens all the time, it’s just that the elderly have a more difficult time evading death/injury. May start carrying rocks to hit the back windshield, and I had plenty of witnesses right there at CPK.
DAVY BROWN: You were crossing State at the crosswalk and a car went past at 40 mph minimum? So you can throw a rock at 50+ mph to catch up to the car speeding through and have good enough aim to hit the vehicle? And, how do you have witnesses at CPK? They are on the Chapala side of the Paseo Nuevo – can’t even see State Street from the restaurant.
Literally, the same thing I was thinking Roger.
Have some compassion people. I get it and all, but he passed away because someone was distracted and not paying close enough attention.
Leave it to the good ol people in EH to blame the victim in this, EH never disappoints.
