I was aware SCE was doing work on Tunnel Trail, I just didn’t know it would render a once beautiful part of Santa Barbara unrecognizable. If the goal was to fill creek beds with boulders and create an eyesore wide enough to drive a Mack truck through, then mission accomplished.
how does SCE screwing up tunnel trail and dumping rocks where they aren’t supposed to be, equate to people losing homes? lol…
a bit of a stretch….big stretch
the creek is more likley to flood and cause a debris flow now that it is full of scree and boulders…supposedly…SCE is having to remediate this condition and remove the rubble. some one made a big mistake dumping garbage…eg. rubble into the creel bed… lots of environmental damage…
So you’d rather your house and loved ones be taken out by the next fire/mudslide?
They better remove every single rock that was dumped there!
Should be a massive fine for this!
Out of curiosity, has anyone checked with the contractor to see what stage they’re at in the construction here? It appears folks are getting awfully upset over a lack of information and a plethora of assumptions and speculations. I know, I know… par for the course, it is Edhat’s comments section after all.
The entire trail is an eyesore with large piles of dirt and rocks everywhere. I can’t believe SCE is able to do this much damage.
this was posted a few weeks back, yes SCE has been told by the environmental/ SB agencies here that they SHOULD not have dumped there. and the response from SCE was ” ooopps were sorry we are working with the local jurisdictions to remedy the situation”
They’ve done nothing to remedy the situation. There are boulders everywhere!
EBURNS, what has Mother Nature done to clean up the mess she left behind that fateful night? Lock her up.
