At 7:47 this morning, Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call of a red, two-door Toyota sedan that hit two pedestrians in front of Carpinteria High School. Both pedestrians were awake and alert when deputies arrived and were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured and waited at the scene for law enforcement to arrive.
Deputies do not suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in this incident. The investigation is ongoing and will include where the victims were when they were hit, the approximate speed of the vehicle, the consideration of contributing factors, and determining fault.
