The City of Santa Barbara has fenced off Skater’s Point skatepark after residents ignored the closed signs.
The skate park located on E. Cabrillo Blvd near the Garden intersection was closed along with other playgrounds due to social-distancing meant to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
John Palminteri reports several skaters ignored the closed sign and continued using the park anyway which prompted the City to install tall fencing to surround the park.
And their dog!
Should we all be worried about what those kids will be doing now???
Yes it is a shame
No it’s not. The skate park needed to be closed
yep, it truly is a shame
What’s a shame is you thinking the park should have stayed open
The skate park could have been monitored and left open. I’m concerned now that beaches and parks are next. It is really easy to be outdoors doing things safely. If you don’t, you ruin it for everyone who is trying to do so!
Sorry but no. The skate park needed to be closed
Please just stay home. We need to flatten the curve
I saw just the opposite, small groups in close contact and people skating right past each other.
Thank you city workers!
What a shame. From what I would see on walking by, most of those that were using it kept their distance from each other; a few, older guys, sat together at the end. As often, a few can wreck something for everyone else.
Going to need a taller fence.
No. It’s not a shame
That will teach those damn kids!
