The City of Santa Barbara collected approximately $1,200,700 in transient occupancy taxes (TOT) for July 2020. The Covid-19 pandemic and related response has severely affected the local travel industry. TOT revenues in July 2020 were 49.6% below July last year.
July is the first month of the City’s fiscal year, which runs from July 1 through June 30. The City’s adopted TOT budget is $17,241,134.

Don’t worry too much about this. In order to keep up the money flow to pay all the public employees, the City “staff” will recommend other sources of income. I heard that to apply for an outdoor restaurant street permit, the application fee is $1200!! Can anyone confirm?
