The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department (PHD) reports 84 new COVID-19 cases from Saturday through Monday.
The total case count is now 8,930 with 29 of these reported on Monday. There are currently 151 cases that are active/infectious.
There are currently 23 hospitalizations including 4 in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Below is a status update as of September 21, 2020.

Cottage Health is caring for a total of 224 patients across all campuses.

176 are acute care patients; 212 acute care beds remain available.

Of the 176 acute care patients, 8 patients are on ventilators.
82 ventilators remain available (adult, pediatric and neonatal ventilators). -
Of the 176 acute care patients, 8 are in isolation with COVID-19 symptoms;
6 are confirmed COVID-19 positive. -
Of the 8 patients in isolation, none are in critical care.

From Sept 7-13:
1,871 COVID-19 laboratory tests were collected by Cottage Health.
Results: 58 positive, 1,813 negative -
From Sept 14-20:
2,392 COVID-19 laboratory tests were collected by Cottage Health.
Results: 39 positive, 2,207 negative, 146 pending

And from the people who can’t seem to grasp the fact that you should wear a mask almost any time you’re out and about, and not just in a crowd.
374 new cases… but only 151 active???!! This is like doing homeschool math with my 6th grader…it’s a circus! And how are the 4 Total in the ICU…which would be lowest since they started reporting…not critical? Did someone hit the “send” button at Public Health without well…proofreading or thinking?
