Watch for the Moon to pass close by to Jupiter and Saturn from September 23-26. Here it is with Jupiter (tiny dot on the upper left) on September 23. It’s easy to recognize Jupiter and Saturn. Jupiter is brighter than any star. Saturn is 15 times less, but it’s as bright as the brightest stars. Unlike the twinkling stars, Jupiter and Saturn both shine steadily. Watch them travel together during the next few months until they get really close to each other for the “Great Conjunction” on December 21, 2020. These great Jupiter/Saturn conjunctions recur in periods of 20 years and the 2020 one will be the closest since 1623. Get ready!
