Possible Homeless Camp Fire in Solvang

Update by edhat staff

Santa Barbara County Firefighters knocked down a possible homeless encampment fire near Solvang on Wednesday evening.

At 8:38 p.m., fire crews responded to the 2200 block of Hill Haven Road after receiving numerous reports of a structure fire in the area. Crews discovered a large outbuilding heavily involved in fire that was extending to nearby brush.

An aggressive attack quickly stamped out the fire without any injuries. The official cause is under investigation but it’s believed to be due to a homeless encampment fire, according to Captain Daniel Bertucelli.

Crews will remain on scene to mop up.
