Structure Fire at Goleta Restaurant

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded to a fire inside Pepe’s Restaurant in Old Town Goleta early Thursday morning.

At approximately 3:12 a.m., crews arrived in the 5800 block of Gaviotat Street and discovered a working fire with heavy smoke. Crews aggressively attacked the fire and ventilated the building.

The majority of damage appears to be in the attic area but the restaurant is currently closed.

There were no injuries and the cause is under investigation.
