On January 4, 2021, at approximately 9:10 P.M., Santa Barbara Police Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Arrellaga Street and Castillo Street on a call of shots fired. Officers arrived and found evidence of a shooting. No injuries were reported.
The shooting investigation remains ongoing.
While the shooting investigation was underway, a DUI driver was speeding south on Castillo Street and hit a patrol vehicle that was parked on the right shoulder of Castillo Street. The DUI vehicle bounced off of one patrol vehicle and broadsided another police vehicle.
The DUI driver was identified as Jacob Milem. Both police vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the collision.
Milem was arrested for DUI.
To be fair… they were unloading their guns…
Are we going to turn into Chicago or what?? Maybe it’s time to outlaw guns then the bad guys won’t be able to get them. (Wink wink)
11:31, yeah maybe we should do more to control the spread of firearms. Or you could always move to a southern state where they have fewer restrictions and more gun deaths, wink-wink.
Thankfully we have a solid city police force – they don’t have it easy and ripping into them for the acts of others is unjustified.
